Description

This presentation is for the Catholic Primary School and Parish interested in working together on a short project.
The presentation explains the two parts of the project:

1. School staff and parishioners access an adult Faith Formation & Social Education session(s) on seeking asylum in Perth.
Nominated students attend a session on what an asylum seeker is and then report back to their class on their learnings.

2. Students and parishioners collect curated food & hygiene packs for distribution by school staff (parishioners) to persons seeking asylum

Deacon Greg Lowe - Director of WACMRO

Deacon Gregory Lowe is the inaugural Director of the new Western Australian Catholic Migrant and Refugee Office (WACMRO). WACMRO seeks to promote the acceptance and settlement of migrants and refugees into Australia. It aspires to support migrants and refugees in a manner that upholds their dignity to enable them to feel a sense of welcome and belonging in the parish and broader community. Rev. Gregory was ordained deacon by Archbishop Hickey in 2006 for the Perth Archdiocese. Currently, he is the Parish Deacon in the Innaloo / Karrinyup parish where he conducts baptisms, marriages,
funerals and assists at the Sunday Mass.
