Event Overview

Over two workshops, the current Social Justice Statement from the national Bishops will be explored: ‘To live life to the full: Mental health in Australia today’. With reference to the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic and other global and national challenges, the first workshop will discuss the timely Statement incorporating prayerful reflection and discernment. The second workshop will discuss ways of bringing the critically important Statement to life within parishes and hubs, with an invitation for parish-based Social Justice Advocates. “I have come that you may have life and have it to the full” John 10:10 CEWA Ongoing Renewal: this course has been approved for Faith Formation

Presenter

Ms Carol Mitchell

Carol Mitchell is the Director of the Justice Ecology and Development Office (JEDO) in the Archdiocese of Perth. Her personal and professional passion has always involved working with or for the marginalised and vulnerable, including for women and children’s safety. Prior to working at JEDO, she worked for decades in three State government departments and two non-government agencies. This was enabled through a Diploma of Dental Nursing; Bachelor of Science in Health Promotion; Graduate Diploma in Women’s Studies and Graduate Certificate in Human Rights.
She has been married to her husband Tom for over 35 years and they have three wonderful children: Miranda, Xavier and Bronte.
